Happy New Year!

I've uploaded the title track from my upcoming recording "Subject To Change".  This is the second of my cross country collaborations with my old classmate Mark Englert of Dramarama.  Mark brought the song to life just like he did in our first song ("October") with his great guitar work!

I wrote the song after returning from a trip to my hometown of Wayne , NJ not long after hearing that old friend, neighbor, and legend of the Wayne Hills Class of 1979 Mike Rhinesmith was very sick.  I drove around my old neighborhood, schools, and just about every other place of significance from my youth and came away with this reflection about the meaning of friends, family, faith and love in our life's journey.  When I sent the acoustic version of the track to Mark he said it reminded him of our old neighborhood and he'd be honored to play on a song inspired by Mike.

This song and the story of how it came to be is the final song in my one man show and I'm proud to say people have been very moved by it (check out the video below).  Invariably they ask if it's on any of my CD's.  The CD is on the way but here's a recording for now - just a few days after Mike's 51st birthday on New Year's Day.  Rest in peace old friend.

"The Mid-Life Chronicles"

I am happy to say that the response to my one man show, "The Mid-Life Chronicles", has been great!  The most common feedback I get  is something like "I didn't know what to expect but it was a  fun show that I could really relate to"!   If I may be so bold - anyone 35 or over would be hard pressed not to relate to the songs and stories in the show!

If you are interested in booking the show please go to "The Mid-Life Chronicles" page on this site.  I have done the show in clubs, as a fund-raiser, and even for a 50th Birthday high school reunion event.  The show is fun, unique, and appeals to a wide audience so you may want to consider it for your event!  We'll provide the show, the sound, the lighting and help you with show promotion (poster/tickets/press).

"A show that should not be missed!  Tom's performance was not only entertaining and comical but also extremely moving.  Thank you Tom for keeping our memories alive through your music. We are so glad you are part of our past, present, and future!  We look forward to Tom performing for our classmates at our high school 50th Birthday Party in July, 2011."

The "Jersey Chix"

"Our group had a great time! You performed to a full house which really helped our fund-raising efforts and it was the perfect show for our audience.  It was fun, original, the songs were wonderful, and the stories that led up to them were very entertaining!  The place was roaring as everyone could relate to their younger days and how "50 is the new 30"!
